Obituary: Anderson, Gary

Age 69

ANDERSON,
Gary “GA”
(Age 69)

Passed away at his home in Cheney, Washington on June 12, 2012.

Gary was born March 13, 1943 and attended Cheney High School.

He was a lifelong resident of Cheney, owning and operating his business, Gary Anderson Sand & Gravel.

He had many large contracts, including Fairchild AFB for 30 years, and the State of Washington.

Gary enjoyed being a Dad, watching his son Justin growing up playing sports, and teaching him the business and how to operate equipment, following in his footprints.

Gary was a gambler, whether it be his trips to Reno, his race horse Ruthless Ruler, or the pull tabs at the American Legion.

He was always ready for chance.

He is survived by his son, Justin Anderson; brother, Robin Dare; sisters, Cheryl (Jerry) Key, Karen Smith, and Sharon Gonzales; four nieces and more family in Yakima.

Gary was preceded in death by his son, Shane Spolanski, father Del Anderson, and mother Margaret Dare.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at Cheney Funeral Chapel followed by internment at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

A reception will follow at the American Legion in Cheney.
