Died at Hospice of Spokane on Friday, June 15, 2012, following a extended illness
She was born January 7th, 1955 in Colville, Washington to Ernest and Adele Berestoff.
She lived the majority of her life in Spokane, Washington.
Mina’s unique family situation enabled her to contribute greatly to the deaf community in many ways.
She worked as an interpreter for the deaf and helped establish the Interpreter Referral program here in Spokane, Washington.
Her interpreting skills enabled her to help the deaf and hard of hearing in many aspects of their lives.
She will be remembered for her smile, laughter, and her desire to help others.
Mina is survived by her husband, Scott Barton; father, Ernest Berestoff; and brothers, Mark and Scott Berestoff.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Hospice House of Spokane, in memory of Mina L. Barton would be appreciated.
