Violence concerns downtown Spokane businesses

Associated Press

SPOKANE — Some downtown Spokane businesses concerned about late-night violence will discuss the issue tonight at a meeting of the Riverside Neighborhood Council.

KXLY reported incidents blamed on a group of teens include the beating of a bar bouncer and two cooks from a diner.

Police have increased bike patrols. But City Council President Ben Stuckart says the city doesn’t have the budget to add more downtown cops.
