A dog was shot multiple times during a home invasion robbery in North Spokane Tuesday night.

The robbery occurred near 800 W. Euclid Ave.. shortly before 9:40 p.m., a news release from the Spokane Police Department said. Police originally responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 400 W. Park Place, a few blocks east and one block south of the robbery.

Police said two masked men broke into a home on West Euclid with guns and robbed the occupants, including a “female and a small child.” The occupants were not injured.

When the robbers fled the home, the victim’s dog chased them and was shot multiple times.

The men were driving a white, older van with bi-fold doors on the side and a faded Shock sticker on the back, the release said. The van had no windows.

The injured dog was taken to a local animal emergency clinic for treatment.
