After the sun goes down and the courts clear, an athletic competition of a different sort takes place on the dance floor. And no matter where you go to get your groove on, the clubs are bound to be bouncing during Hoopfest weekend.

Ball So Hard Hoopfestival Party
When, where: Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m. at The Vault, 120 N. Wall St.
Cost: No cover announced
For two nights, two DJs will be spinning on two floors, keeping the party on lock down in the former bank vault on Wall Street. For reservations for tables and bottle service call or text (208) 495-4105.
Irv’s Hoopfest Tent Party
When, where: Friday, 7 p.m. and Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. at Irv’s Bar, 415 W. Sprague Ave.

Break away from the courtside action on Hoopfest Saturday and snag a cold beverage under the tents at Irv’s. After dark DJ Divine will be rockin’ the wheels of steel.
Sunrise Over Stonehenge
When, where: Friday, 7 p.m. at Carr’s Corner Lounge & Night Club, 230 S. Washington St.
A slew of regional hip-hop acts are converging on one stage for a bumrush hosted by local rap collective Articles of Rhyme, featuring Bad Penmanship microphone mistress Jaeda. Also on the bill is Missoula’s Zoo Effort & Co Dependents, Tacoma acts DJ Seoul.O, Willy Green of Lost Soulz, and Frankie Hustle, plus locals Intrakate, Yung Dev, Rosco and Johnny 5.
Real Life Rockaz Summer Tour Kick Off
When, where: Friday, 9 p.m. at Blue Spark, 15 S. Howard St.
Spokane’s premiere reggae outfit is off to a busy summer as Real Life Rockaz has been sequestered in the studio recording its next album. Then the Spokane septet hits the road for a regional tour for most of the summer. Catch them before they’re gone when the Rockaz resurface for a tour send-off throw down.
When, where: Saturday, 9 p.m. at The Knitting Factory Concert House, 919 W. Sprague Ave.
Now in its ninth year, The Knitting Factory’s annual Hoopfest jam boasts one of the most consistently slammin’ Hoopfest affairs. This year’s Baller’s Ball is hosted by radio personality Demetrius with sound provider DJ Mayhem – who recently returned to the local airwaves after a stint in Seattle.
Hip-Hop to the Hop Hoopfest Weekend
When, where: Saturday, 7 p.m. at The Hop, 706 N. Monroe St.

Not to be confused with the Real Life Rockaz, the Real Life Arts Entertainment collective is gathering troops for an all-ages onslaught with a sprawling bill of b-boys and b-girls, emcees, deejays, and beatsmiths, including Real Life ringleader Rod Mac, his wife and co-captain Dime City, plus M-Dub, Aubrey Major, Nottus, Krown Royal, Major Boyz, Realla Gorilla, Intrake and Tyler D.
