Save the MAC

The recent antics of the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture board are likely the best thing that could have happened for our museum. A recent study shows that 80 percent of Spokane doesn’t know what the MAC is and/or where it is located. It is far past time for us to shake off our apathy and demand better.

The MAC should be a living, relevant and exciting gathering place for everyone. Out with irrelevant and now-damaging leadership and in with an intelligent museum director, Forrest Rodgers, who has a proven track record (High Desert Museum, Bend, Ore.), and engaging, inclusive vision.

Sign a petition on Change.org (Executive Committee of the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture: Resign Immediately), thus joining a grass-roots community movement to Save The MAC (again), this time from themselves.

Give Forrest the chance he was hired for and maybe, just maybe, that 80 percent will discover and learn to treasure vibrant cultural experiences.
