Spokane Indians’ winning streak snapped at four

BOISE – The Boise Hawks scored six runs in the fifth inning on the way to a 12-2 Northwest League baseball win over Spokane Thursday night to break the Indians’ four-game winning streak at Memorial Stadium.

Spokane (5-9) trailed 3-2 when pitcher David Perez came on in the bottom of the fifth. After a groundout, Perez walked one Hawk, then threw three wild pitches and gave up an RBI double.

The score was still 4-2 with two outs when Boise (5-9) got another RBI double, a walk and a hit batter to load the bases. Dong-Yub Kim cleared them with a grand slam.

Boise added two runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to pull away.

Boise got 14 hits and led the entire game.

The Hawks tagged Spokane starter Connor Sadzeck (0-2) for three hits and two runs in the first inning.

Spokane got on the board in the third when Saquan Johnson scored on a sacrifice fly by Preston Beck.
