Was born June 12, 1934 in Pasco, WA to Chester “Booster” Moon and Pauline Bernice McNicholas; Marley passed away February 24, 2012 in Spokane, WA.

Marley graduated from Lind High School in 1953.

He served in the Army from 1953-1955 after which he returned to Lind, WA to work construction with his father and brother; building hundreds of homes and grain elevators in the Adams, Lincoln, Grant and Franklin County areas.

In 1956 he met his wife Sally and they were married February 28, 1957.

Marley and Sally moved their family to Spokane, WA in 1970 and started a concrete construction business with his friend Gordon Anderson.

Shortly thereafter, Marley started his own business - Moon Foundation Construction - which he ran for 30 years building concrete foundations and retaining walls throughout the Spokane and Eastern Washington area.

In addition to his Foundation business, in 1977 with the passing of his Dad “Booster”, he joined Moon and Moon, Inc. with Booster’s widow Mardi and his uncle John Moon - assisting with the completion of the M & M Motel and later designing and building Michael Jay’s Restaurant in Connell, WA.

Through this business venture he acquired the Moon Apartments that Marley and Sally owned and managed for approximately 20 years.

Marley retired from the Moon Foundation Construction business and sold the Moon Apartments in 2003.

Marley loved spending time with his family, reading about history, shopping for cars and going for long drives.

He was very proud of all of the construction projects he had completed in the Spokane and Eastern Washington region.

He was also very proud of the home that he built and resided in on the South Hill in Spokane.

Marley is survived by his wife Sally of 56 years, his children Linda Moon of Pasco, WA, Kevin Moon and his wife Lisa of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister Maggie Elder of Connell, WA; brother Walter Moon of Portland, OR; brother Jamie Moon of Richland, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Casey Moon.

A Celebration and Remembrance of Marley will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 1 to 4 PM at Michael Jay’s Restaurant in Connell, WA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The Heart Foundation.
