San Diego, USF win at WCC tournament

LAS VEGAS – Johnny Dee scored 30 points to lead San Diego to a 76-54 win over Pepperdine in a West Coast Conference tournament second-round game on Thursday night.

Dee shot 9 of 14 from the field and 6 for 9 from 3-point territory for the sixth-seeded Toreros (13-17), who play No. 3 seed BYU in a quarterfinal game today. Ken Rancifer added 12 points.

The No. 7-seeded Waves (10-19) were led by Corbin Moore, who had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor Darby added 15 points and eight rebounds, and Jordan Baker scored 12 points.

San Francisco 87, Portland 66: Rashad Green and Angelo Caloiaro scored 19 points each to lead the Dons (18-13) to a victory against the Pilots (6-24).

Perris Blackwell added 15 points for the fifth-seeded Dons, who play No. 4 seed Loyola Marymount in a quarterfinal game today.

Nemanja Mitrovic scored 16 points and made four 3-pointers for the eighth-seeded Pilots.

Portland never led and trailed 51-32 at the break.
