Advent Lutheran plans Lenten events, meals

Advent Lutheran Church is hosting a series of worship services, lunches and suppers on Wednesdays during Lent. The lunchtime and dinnertime options are designed to fit nearly any schedule.

The first service will be offered at 12:45 p.m. each Wednesday. Those attending are invited to arrive at noon for a brown bag lunch. If evening is preferred, gather at 6 p.m. for a potluck soup supper. The church will provide bread and coffee; those attending are asked to bring soup to share. A worship service will follow at 6:45 p.m.

The church is at 13009 E. Broadway Ave.

Movie night

Lakeside Church in Liberty Lake will host a free showing of the movie “Courageous” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The 2011 movie is about four police officers who face challenges professionally and in their faith. Child care will be available. Donations will be accepted to help pay the movie licensing fee. The church is located one block north of Appleway on Swing Lane.
