Kootenai County vacuum store destroyed in possible arson

A fire that destroyed two businesses in Kootenai County is being investigated a possible arson. Firefighters responded to the fire at 5648 N. Government Way in Dalton Gardens at 8:20 p.m. Friday to find a building fully engulfed. A 911 caller reported seeing someone running away from the area just as smoke was seen coming out of the building, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office press release. The Helmut Outlet and a Kirby Vacuum store were destryed in the fire. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department at 208-446-1300.
