Eastern women end regular season with setback

Eastern Washington women’s basketball team lost its third straight game, falling at Idaho State 63-58 in the regular-season finale for both teams on Saturday in Pocatello, Idaho.

Eastern (16-13, 10-6) will be the No. 3 seed in the Big Sky Conference tournament at Pocatello.

Eastern senior guard Brianne Ryan led the Eagles with 16 points.

• Ashley Corral scored 25 points and Christina Marinacci added 18 points to lead USC to a 65-54 win at Washington State.

Corral also grabbed 10 rebounds for the Trojans (18-11, 12-6) in the final regular-season Pac-12 game for both schools. USC is the No. 3 seed in next week’s conference tournament at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. WSU will be the No. 11 seed and will play Wednesday night.

• Freshmen Stacey Barr scored a career-high 23 points in Idaho’s 69-50 win over Hawaii (11-18, 6-8).

• Priscilla Santos’ 40 points were too much for North Idaho College to overcome as Eastern Utah (16-14, 8-7) surprised the Cardinals 78-68 in Price, Utah.

First-place NIC ((23-5, 12-3) was led by Korina Baker’s 11 points and 10 each from Aimee Durbridge and Julia Salmio.
