Obituary: Greenlund, George Michel

Age 92


GREENLUND,
George Michel
(Age 92)

of Lynnwood, WA, lost his battle with cancer on February 9, 2012 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA where he was surrounded by family.

The son of August and Marie Greenlund, he was born November 25, 1919 and was married to the late Lois Mary Greenlund.

He is survived by his four children: Judy and partner, Kathy, Bonnie, Rob and wife, Debbie, and Joanne and husband, Mark.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, Stacey, Erin, Jenae, Jacquie, Parker, Samantha and Madison.
George graduated in business from of the University of Washington and was a member of the marching band while attending there.

The UW is where he met his wife, Lois Baird and they were married on September 4, 1942.

After serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946, he worked for Pacific Indemnity Ins.

Co. in Spokane becoming regional branch manager there.

He was a long time resident of Liberty Lake, WA, from 1954 to 1978, raising his family there and enjoying the many lake and community activities it offered.

A great appreciator of water sports, snow skiing, and golfing, he also enjoyed music and working on home carpentry projects.


He was a loving husband, a wonderful father dedicated to providing for his family, and an endearing friend to so many.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, March 10th at 2:00pm at Acacia Memorial Home, 14951 Bothell Way N.E., in Seattle.
