Passed away February 23, 2012 in King County, Washington.
Larraine was a longtime resident of Tekoa, WA.
LaVerna Larraine Cole Beach was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on February 1, 1928 to Thomas Cole and Dorothy Weaver Cole Simpson.
She grew up in Peshastin, WA and attended high school at Holy Names Academy in Seattle.
She attended the University of Idaho, WSU, and Eastern Washington studying drama and education where she attained a Master’s Degree.
Larraine taught school at all levels— high school, junior high, and grade school beginning at Stites, ID and ending in Tekoa where she taught for most of her years.
She retired in 1990.
She especially loved the younger children and continued to volunteer with the Tekoa kindergarten from her retirement until her death.
She married Don Beach on June 6, 1953 at Lewiston, ID and they made their home and raised their family in Kooskia, ID (1953-62) and Tekoa, WA.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tekoa.
She enjoyed writing, directing and participating in the annual Slippery Gulch plays in Tekoa.
She loved the ocean, boating on the lake with Don, vacationing around the country with her family, poetry and reading.
She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and neighbors at Tekoa and her little cat Charlotte.
Larraine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don.
She is survived by daughters Rebecca (Tom Parrish), Jennifer (Tony Padron), sons Kent (Mitzi) Beach and Kurtis (Lisa) Beach, grandchildren Kent, Amanda (Mega) Estero, Alethea (Dave) Kelly and Arriana (Ben) Brough, brother-in-law Max Burns, and numerous great- grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A community and Church memorial service will be planned at a later date.
