Revealed The son of Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin was drunk and had marijuana in his system when he fell into a Wisconsin river and drowned, police said Wednesday. Michael Philbin, 21, had a blood alcohol level of .176, more than twice the legal limit to drive, and also had marijuana at some point before he fell through the ice Jan. 8, according to a statement from police in Oshkosh, Wis. Police say they found no foul play or anything suspicious through their investigation, and his death was classified as an accidental drowning. He disappeared after a night out with friends in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus area, about 50 miles from Green Bay.

Suspended Arizona point guard Josiah Turner has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, the second time this season the freshman has been suspended. Arizona coach Sean Miller issued a statement saying while it was a bad time for a suspension, the standards of the program will not be compromised under any circumstances. The Wildcats open the Pac-12 tournament today.

Bronzed The Pittsburgh Penguins unveiled a 4,700-pound bronze statue honoring hockey Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux outside Consol Energy Center. The statue depicts Lemieux splitting a pair of defensemen on his way to scoring a goal against the New York Islanders in 1988. Lemieux scored 690 goals during his 17 seasons, a tenure that was broken up with a cancer scare and a three-year retirement. He led the Penguins to consecutive Stanley Cups in 1991-92.

Sidelined Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul will be sidelined for three to four weeks with a separated shoulder. Lupul is second in scoring for the Leafs with 25 goals and 42 assists in 66 games.

Died Guard Delvy Lewis, who started for the Kansas team that was upset in the 1966 NCAA basketball tournament, has died after a nine-year fight with cancer. He was 68. Kansas lost to eventual champion Texas Western, the team depicted in the Disney film “Glory Road.”
