Idaho women lose in WAC tourney semifinals

The University of Idaho hit just 3 off 22 field-goal attempts in scoring only 14 points in the first half and couldn’t recover, falling 80-55 to top-seeded Fresno State on Friday in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament at Las Vegas.

The Vandals trailed 33-14 after their 13.6 percent shooting performance in the first half. They finished 16 of 52 for the game (30.8 percent).

Alyssa Charlston led the fourth-seeded Vandals (12-20) with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bulldogs (26-5) had four players score in double figures led by Ki-Ki Moore with 19.

Louisiana Tech 73, Utah State 69: Whitney Jones hit two clutch free throws with 9 seconds to play to lift the Lady Techsters (17-14) to a semifinal win over the Aggies (21-9).
