SUCHLAND, Ruth
(Age 86)

A long-time Odessa resident passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2012 in Puyallup, WA.

She was born April 6, 1925 in Odessa to Henry and Kathryn Derr.

She attended Odessa High School, graduating in 1943, and married Reinhold Suchland in February of 1948.

Over the years she had owned and operated several restaurant and antique businesses in Odessa.
She is survived by her children, Dick Suchland and wife Barbara of Auburn, WA, Craig Suchland and wife Michele of Anchorage, AK, Bob Suchland and wife Katy of Seattle, WA, Bill Suchland and wife Candy Wilbur of Pleasanton, CA, and Ted Suchland and wife Pam of Odessa, WA; eight grandchildren, Katie Suchland, Steven Suchland, Amanda Suchland, Brian Suchland and wife Lydia, Jeff Suchland, Samantha Suchland, Kyle Suchland, and Emma Suchland; one great-granddaughter Hadyn Reynolds; and her dear friend George Gould.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold Suchland, son Tim Suchland, and granddaughter Carly Suchland.
Ruth was known for her lifelong love of music, playing piano and organ, and acting as choir director at her church for many years.

She was also an avid antique dealer and collector, and spent much of her later years hunting for her next discovery.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Wednesday March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Church, Odessa, with Pastor Jon Hayashi officiating.

Graveside Services will precede the memorial service at Odessa Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Suchland will lie-in-state at the Odessa Cemetery Chapel, Odessa, WA from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Memorials may be made to the Heritage Congregational Church, Odessa, WA.
