Predictions abound for Gonzaga’s seeding, site

The Gonzaga men’s basketball team will find out this afternoon its seeding, its opponent and its destination in the NCAA tournament.

There’s no shortage of opinions on line about the Bulldogs. The consensus seems to be that Gonzaga will be a seven or eight seed packing for a long plane ride.

ESPN.com projects Gonzaga as a seven facing No. 10 Harvard in Pittsburgh. CBSsports.com had GU as a seven Saturday morning, but later dropped the Bulldogs to an eight facing No. 9 Harvard in Greensboro. Foxsports.com lists No. 8 Gonzaga against No. 9 Connecticut in Omaha. SI.com predicts No. 8 Gonzaga versus No. 9 Purdue in Louisville, with a potential second-round matchup against top-seeded Kentucky.

WCC rival Saint Mary’s is projected as a six or seven seed by the four websites. BYU, considered on the bubble after falling to Gonzaga in the WCC tournament semifinals, made the field on all four bracket projections.
