Pfeffer leads Whitworth sweep at UPS

LACEY, Wash. – Tyler Pfeffer drove in nine runs as Whitworth completed a rain-delayed three-game sweep of Puget Sound in Northwest Conference baseball play on Monday.

The Pirates (9-5-1, 3-0 NWC) won the rain-interrupted opener 12-10 in 10 innings on Michael Takemura’s RBI single and Gerhard Muleheim’s bunt single, then followed with 15-8 and 13-7 decisions.

Pfeffer also added a steal of home in the second game.
