Age 87


PATTERSON, Betty Jean

The best grandma ever passed away on March 10th, 2012 at the age of 87.

She was born on September 13th, 1924 in Gem, Idaho to Charles and Hazel Hayes.

Betty graduated from Mullan High School in 1942 and moved to Spokane to attend Kelsey Baird Secretarial School.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, older brother Earl, and her husband of 53 years, William H. Patterson, Sr. She is survived by two sons, William and Sandee Patterson, Jr. and Jim and Marge Patterson; six grandchildren, Krista, Karin, Kimberly, Kelli, Michelle and Katie; step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Ben; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mom started her working career at Deaconess Hospital in 1956 in Tumor Registry and was active in the Washington State Tumor Registrars Association.

She retired on January 4th, 1987 with 31 years of service.

Betty was active in the Moose Lodge, enjoyed genealogy, Rose Society and Bloomsday.

Most of all Mom and Dad enjoyed the grandkids and great grandkids.

A very special thank you to all the staff at Park Place “Clare Bridge Place” for not only taking care of all her needs but for loving her like family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16th, 2012 from 4-8PM at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 17th, 2012 at 1:00PM at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will take place at Peone Prairie Cemetery in Mead, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spokane Guilds School, 2118 W. Garland, Spokane, WA 99205.
