Idaho rescues the rich

If you want a preview of what the United States would look like with a Republican president, look no further than Idaho. The Republican- dominated Legislature is in the process of passing a bill to cut taxes for the wealthiest Idahoans by a whopping $35.7 million. They’re calling it economic development.

It seems that when a state is in economic trouble, the only way to fix things is to cut taxes on the millionaires and corporations. That way it will trickle down to the peons below. And boy, do those peons need trickling on.

Idaho ranks a few bucks above Mississippi at the bottom of the per-capita income ratings, according to the U.S., Department of Commerce in 2010. I suppose the boys in Boise would tell me that if I didn’t like it I could move to Mississippi.
