In brief: Trip follows Lake Missoula path

WHITMAN COUNTY – The Whitman County Historical Society will take its annual tour May 19-20, traveling through Ancient Glacial Lake Missoula and its outlet through Idaho and the Spokane Valley.

Interested participants may sign up for the two-day journey. Participants will leave from Pullman and travel in a 47-passenger motor coach, beginning along the Clearwater River, crossing over Lolo Pass and heading into the Bitterroot arm of Glacial Lake Missoula. The second day of the tour will travel along the Clark Fork River, into Idaho along Lake Pend Oreille and finally into the Spokane Valley, and then back to the Palouse.

Cost for the trip is $212 for one Whitman County Historical Society member or $350 for two members. For nonmembers, there is a $20 additional fee. Lunch will be provided both days.

Brain trauma workshop planned

COMSTOCK – The Unity Church, 2900 S. Bernard St., will present a vicarious trauma workshop Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

The workshop will focus on brain development and how the brain reacts to trauma, either emotional or physical.
