Obituary: Hatton, Ron


HATTON, Ron

Ron Hatton, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away at 66 years of age on March 11, 2012 after a courageous nine year battle against cancer.


Ron was a life long resident of Spokane.

He attended John R. Rodgers High School graduating in 1963.

He also attended Spokane Community College graduating with an Associates Degree in 1975.

He went on to attend Eastern Washington University graduating with a Bachelors Degree in 1978.


He served in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Ranger for four years.

After his service Ron went to work for the Great Northern Railroad following his dad Fred Hatton.

Ron continued to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement after 30 years of service.


He leaves behind his loving wife Linda of 40 years, his daughter Yvette Moulton, son-in-law Frank Moulton and grandson Noah Moulton, his daughter Julie Wilbur, son-in-law Scott Wilbur, grandson Zachary Black and granddaughter Emily Wilbur.

He is also survived by his sister Evelyn Lund, sister-in-law Sherri Gage, brother-in-law Bill Gage and his life long friend Terry Montanye.


Ron was a kind loving man with a great sense of humor.

He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Riding his motorcycle was one of his greatest joys.

He also loved camping, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be deeply loved and remembered by all his family.

Ron’s courage and lack of mallace dealing with cancer truly earned him his “Badge of Honor.”

The family would like to thank Cancer Care Northwest for all the efforts to save Ron’s life.


A memorial service will be held in his honor at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at 8304 E. Buckeye Ave. in Millwood, WA on Saturday, March 17th, 2012 at 1:00 pm.
