Entered peacefully into rest on March 14, 2012.
She was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on March 22, 1920 to parents Ole and Sena Hagen.
Lillian graduated from Fargo High School in 1938.
Also in 1938, she married her loving husband of 65 years, Wally Torbenson, who preceded her in death in 2003.
Lillian has lived in the Spokane area for over 50 years.
She worked in the Development Department at Gonzaga University for 17 years, before retiring in 1982.
Lillian’s life was centered around her family and longtime friends.
She had her own unique style of honesty, humor, and quick wit.
Lillian always thought of others before taking time for herself.
She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild, and loved to knit and play cards.
Lillian is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Suzanne Torbenson of Spokane Valley; grandchildren, Lori Koch, Don Torbenson, and Brian Torbenson all of Spokane; great-grandchildren, Ashley Koch, Makayla Torbenson, Travis Torbenson, Kelsey Koch, and Riley Torbenson.
A private urn placement will be held for the family.
