UW women advance to quarterfinals of WNIT
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The University of Washington women’s basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT with a 55-49 victory over Oregon State on Tuesday night.
Regina Rogers scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Washington (20-13), which reached 20 victories for the first time since 2003.
Tied at the half, the Beavers (20-13) took a six-point lead before the Huskies took the lead for good with 11:08 to go.
Earlysia Marchbanks led OSU with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Washington will play the winner of Thursday’s game between Texas Tech (21-13) and San Diego (24-8).
The site for the quarterfinal game will be determined by WNIT bidding.
