MAIORIELLO, Ann Elizabeth
(Age 80)


Passed away March 17, 2012.

Ann Maioriello was born November 16, 1931 in Spokane, Washington to Selwyn and Katherine Lane.

She was a graduate of Gonzaga University with a BS in Nursing and was a nursing instructor at Sacred Heart School of Nursing until it closed in 1973.

Ann went on to other nursing administration jobs, including establishing the Home Health Division of the Alaska Department of Health in Anchorage and ended her career with the State of Washington as a nursing home inspector.

She took a break from her career in Alaska when she decided to live “off-grid” and pan for gold for a year.

Ann was thoroughly involved in her artistic endeavors.

She made pottery, stained glass, and was an avid needle worker and knitter.

Her varied interests also included the World Wildlife Fund and Sierra Club, and playing bridge with her friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her son Anthony A. Maioriello.

She is survived by her children Anna “Cookie” (Lee) Campbell of Spokane, WA, Annette “Neti” T. Maioriello of Hope, ID, Arthur (Diana) A. Maioriello of Ketchikan, AK; as well as her sister Barbara Lane.

Survivors also include her grandchildren Ambrose A. Maioriello, Amelia L. Challender, Elizabeth L. Campbell of Spokane, WA, Ashley Maioriello, and Anthony Maioriello of Ketchikan, AK.

She also left behind four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

A Rosary Vigil will be held on Friday, March 23 at 7:00 pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 24 at 10:00 am, both at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1517 E. 33rd Ave., Spokane.

Ann will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
