Marion “Mac”
(Age 95)

“Mac” was born August 14, 1916 in Kimberly, B.C.

and after living the majority of his life in Spokane, passed away March 16, 2012 surround-ed by family.

He was married for 65 years to Elizabeth Lee Petty and she preceded him in 2001 as well as his parents Bill and Rose, brothers Bob and Jack, sister June Wacker, son-in-law Bob Hill and adopted son Larry Groshoff.

Mac is survived by his children Bill (Caryl), Jim (Marlene), Jack (Sandy), Marilee (Jim) Earle, Bob (Karen) and Kathy Hill; 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great grand-children; siblings Phyllis Latimer, Carole Ralph and Marilyn Ellern; many nieces and nephews.

Mac was a Marine in WWII, active in Scouts and a member of Inland Empire Boy Scout Council and a member of the Eagle Scout Board of Review and did lay ministry with Spokane County Jail.

He worked in sales for Sears, Penney’s, Crescent Spices and his favorite was 20 years at Brownie Baking Company.

His special interests include fishing, Seahawks, family and McDonald’s chocolate shakes.

The family would like to thank Riverview Retirement Community for the wonderful care Mac received for 13 years, He made many friends and was loved by all.

A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00AM Friday, March 23, 2012 at Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Union Gospel Mission in his name.
