Religion Notebook: Retreat will focus on grieving, healing

Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, 6910 S. Ben Burr Road, will present a weekend retreat, “Living through Grief,” March 30 through April 1.

The Rev. Stan Malnar, M.D. and Dr. Jim Shaw will present skills to move through the grieving process to receive hope and healing.

Malnar is a Diocesan priest and doctor at Sacred Heart Medical Center and Shaw is a physician and director of ethics at the Providence Center for Faith and Healing.

The cost to attend is $185 per person or $280 per couple for overnight accommodations and five meals. The cost for commuters – programs and meals only – is $100.

Lenten activities

Central Baptist Church, 19 W. Shannon Ave., will continue its series of Lenten soup suppers and sharing of faith stories Wednesday at 6 p.m.
