Motorcyclist, bicyclist die in Spokane Valley crash

A motorcyclist and bicyclist died today after a collision while the bicyclist was on an evening ride with his wife. The Spokane County Sheriff’s office said the cyclists were westbound on East Buckeye Avenue in Spokane Valley and stopped at a stop sign at North Dick Road between 6:30 and 7 p.m. The male cyclist then proceeded into the intersection, where he collided with the motorcyclist, who was northbound on Dick Road and did not have a stop sign. The motorcyclist was declared dead at a local hospital. The cyclist died later, KHQ reported. It is unknown if drugs, alcohol or speed were factors, but authorities did note that neighbors in the area had called police to complain about a motorcyclist driving around the area, revving the engine. The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was wearing a helmet.
