Fairfield City Council – The council heard from a representative of Du-Mor Recycling, who said his organization might be able to provide free service for some recycling materials for residents. Council members voted to award the bid for a sewer improvement project to low bidder Bowen Brothers. Discussions are under way for a Memorial Day event on May 26 and a Flag Day celebration on June 9.

Rockford City Council – A public hearing on an alley vacation was held. David Thompson was appointed to a council seat vacated by Stan Seehorn when he moved outside the city limits and resigned. A building permit was approved and there was discussion on the replacement fire levy on the April 17 ballot.
