DUNNING, Richard H.
(Age 76)

Passed away peacefully March 19, 2012 after a10 year battle with Parkinson’s Dementia.

Richard was born in Spokane to Richard and LaReign Dunning.

He attended St. Augustine’s, Gonzaga High (Prep) School and Eastern Washington State College (EWU).

As a youngster he was one of the highly ranked junior tennis players in the region.

This competitive spirit carried on to golf in his later years and he became a fine player, achieving 2 holes in one.

Richard served in the US Navy and then worked for both the City of Spokane and for Retail Credit as an inspector.

In 1966, Richard went to work for National Gypsum Gold Bond Building Products and retired from Gold Bond in 1994 as one of their top salesmen.

He was a repeat winner of the Top National Sales Award for Gold Bond and was their 1968 National Salesman of the Year.

Richard loved his home and his yard, you couldn’t visit without “taking the tour” to see his latest landscape project or to check out the latest paint job on the house.

He was a proud, long time member of The Knights of Columbus.

Richard is survived by his wife of 31 years Jeannine; sons Michael (Dana) and David (Tracy) Dunning; daughter Stacy (Wayne) Beal; brother George Dunning; and grandchildren Taylor and Jack Ryan Dunning.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm in The Rose Chapel at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home 2203 N Division with a reception to follow.
