Passed away February 21, 2012.

She was born March 25, 1917 in Garfield, WA to Carl William and Mildred Alto Glorfield.

She is survived by one of her sons, Craig and his wife Lisa Jorgens of Orinda, CA; granddaughters Laura and Emily Jorgens of New York, NY and Orinda, CA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her other son Maurice Jorgens in 2007 and her husband of 67 years Logan Jorgens in 2007.

She attended school in Waverly, WA and won the Washington State Spelling Bee before attending Washington State University, receiving her BA in 1940.

On September 29, 1940 she married Logan Henry Jorgens.

She worked as a project manager for a large construction company in Spokane and also earned her pilot’s license before WWII.

She was Logan’s partner in the wholesale fruit business and helped on their dairy farm during WWII.

Her passion was raising and hybridizing gladiolus (glads).

She was a nationally accredited gladiolus judge and developed and commercialized numerous new varieties.

Logan and Glory raised 7.5 acres of glads on 12th Ave in the valley for over 40 years supplying western Washington, northern Idaho and most of Montana with fresh glads.

Active in the community, she was room mother and Cub Scout den mother for many years and also PTA President, and was involved in the Ladies of Kiwanis and American Association of University Women.

She and Logan traveled to over 50 countries making lifelong friendships while learning about their cultures.

With her special eye for photography, she beautifully captured their adventures.

She was very kind, loving and thoughtful about her actions.

She loved animals and natural beauty.

She enriched many people’s lives with her thoughtful words and kind heart.

Always improving herself and thinking of others first, she lived her life to the fullest.

A patient mother, who led by example, she lived her life to the best of her ability.

We will all miss her greatly and remember her whenever we see a beautiful sunset.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7th, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Spokane Valley Baptist Church, 1222 McDonald Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
