McDONALD, Michael M.

Born 4/8/1937 to Robert James and Marie Antoinette McDonald, Syracuse, NY.

Died 3/15/2012 Spokane, WA.

Graduated Fayetteville/ Manlius H.S., Fayetteville, NY (1955).

Moved to Orofino, ID area and worked as a scaler then clerk for Potlatch (1955-1959).

Graduated from U of I, Moscow, ID (1964).

1964 worked for Corp of Engineers in Walla Walla, WA, and then in 1971 for the U.S. Bureau of Mines as a Research Civil Engineer in Spokane, WA until his retirement in 1992.

Mike received the wonderful gift of a HEART TRANSPLANT in March 1994.

We have spent the last 15 years enjoying RVing across the USA and Canada.

Mike was a member of ASCE (American Society of Engineers), and an active member of the Escapees RV Club Local Wash-Pan Chapter 39.

He is survived by: wife, Linda McDonald, and son Patrick McDonald of Spokane; son, Matthew McDonald, and daughter Kathleen McDonald, and granddaughters Kayla McDonald, Britney and Lindsey Ramsden of Liverpool, NY; grandson Skyler Michael Haile McDonald of Spokane, WA; and numerous step-grand and great-grandchildren; brothers Keith of Portland, OR, James, William, Daniel, and Emmett of Syracuse, NY area; sister Kathleen “Nena” Collins of Livingston, TX.

Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Robert, Richard, Dolan, and sister Jane Hempler of Syracuse, NY area.

There will be private services.

Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or American Heart Association.
