Sacre to play in Final Four all-star game

Gonzaga center Robert Sacre has been selected to play in the Reese’s Division I College All-Star men’s basketball game as part of the Final Four festivities this weekend in New Orleans.

The all-star game, featuring 20 seniors divided onto West and East rosters, will be played Friday at the Superdome.

The NCAA tournament semifinals (Kansas-Ohio State and Louisville-Kentucky) are Saturday with the title game Monday.

The all-star game will be broadcast Saturday at 10 a.m. on TruTV.

Baseball

Washington State spent a long, productive day in the Los Angeles area Monday.

After smacking around No. 6 UCLA 10-4 in the windup of a rain-delayed Pac-12 series to snap a four-game losing streak, the Cougars (12-10, 2-4 Pac-12) followed with an 11-1 win at Long Beach State.

Ty Jackson and Adam Nelubowich each homered and drove in three runs for the Cougars, who scored nine runs in the first two innings against the Bruins, as WSU averted being swept by UCLA.
