Obituary: Ewing, Edith Edna

Age 80

EWING, Edith Edna
April 14, 1931 - March 10, 2012

Our dear mother, Edith Edna Ewing, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 10, at Avalon Care Center in Spokane, WA, at 80 years of age.

Edith was born April 14, 1931 in Canton, WI, the tenth of 12 children, the daughter of James Thomas and Mabel Katharine Henry Ewing.

She was preceded in death by her companion of 19 years, Saturday, her cat.

Edith was married to Pierrie Dimico, making their home in Spokane, WA with their four children of whom all survive her.

They are Linda Dimico Casimir, Louise Dimico Orton, John Dimico, and Pier Angela (Casey) Dimico.

Grandma Edith was proud of her 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She later moved to Lacey, WA and then to Anchorage, AK for 25 years, returning to Spokane for the last five and one-half years to be with her family.

Her fondest childhood memories are of living in Montana where she requested her ashes to be scattered.

We will be remembering our mother at a private family memorial.

In lieu of flowers, making a donation to your local public library in memory of Edith would honor her.

She was an avid reader and loved books.

We would like to express our great appreciation to Avalon Care Center staff for the wonderful care of our mother and to her many friends who have offered their condolences.

Your written words may be sent to Angela Dimico, 3106 N Street, Vancouver, WA 98663.
