Obituary: Hoepfer, R. Nadine (Curry) (O’Connor)

R. Nadine (Curry) (O’Connor)

Of Spokane, WA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14th 2012.

In her final days she was surrounded by her family and friends.

Nadine was the middle child of Sam and Effie Curry born in Cloverland, WA, July 13, 1927.

Nadine graduated from Asotin High School and continued her education at Kinman Business College.

Joining the workforce at an early age inspired her fiercely independent side.

She spent many years as the Office Manager of Andrews Equipment Service in Spokane, WA, and ran the inside business of Intermountain Drilling of Priest River, Idaho, a company shared by herself and her late husband.

Nadine’s keen eye for business made her very successful in life.



Nadine had a passion for life, family and friends.

Once a year she and a group of five girlfriends would travel the county and play.

She enjoyed competitive games of cribbage and was a ruthless poker player.

Nadine was very lucky when it came to the slots and enjoyed her “hooch”.

Friends would say she had a wicked sense of humor and her baby blues and smile that would light up a room.

Nadine was a phenomenal cook and many of her recipes have been passed down generation to generation.

She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to pick huckleberries, hunt and fish.

She worked, played, and lived on the Pend Oreille River with her late husband Norm Hoepfer eventually retiring and settling at Priest Lake, Idaho where she was a active member of the community.



Survived by her sons Patrick (Joan) O’Connor, Michael O’Connor, Kerry (Geralyn) O’Connor and her step-children Ed, Karen and Jake as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norm Hoepfer, sisters Arlene Brown, Nancy Ferguson and daughter Barbra Cordill.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, 11:00 AM at Grandview Resort, 3492 Reeder Bay Road, Priest Lake, Idaho, Fr.

Charlie Skok to officiate.
