Brown faces up to year in jail on DUI

From Wire Reports

The Los Angeles city attorney’s office charged singer Bobby Brown on Wednesday with three misdemeanor counts following his drunken-driving arrest in the L.A. community of Reseda. Brown was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and driving on a suspended license.

A source familiar with the case said the field sobriety test administered by the California Highway Patrol on Monday determined Brown was driving his White Mercedes GL 450 with a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent versus the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Officers pulled him over for talking on his cellphone but then administered a field sobriety test. He faces a maximum of one year in county jail if convicted on all charges.

The 43-year-old is the ex-husband of Whitney Houston and a founding member of the group New Edition.

Bee Gee Gibb has more surgery

Bee Gees star Robin Gibb has undergone further surgery following a sustained illness. Gibb is recovering in the hospital after intestinal surgery over the weekend and has been forced to cancel a number of commitments, publicist Doug Wright said.

Gibb, 62, was hospitalized late last year for stomach and colon problems, but told the BBC last month he was making a good recovery. He did not disclose the nature of his illness, but said a growth on his colon had been removed.

‘Octomom’ poses seminude

Financial struggles have led “Octomom” Nadya Suleman to pose seminude in photographs to run alongside a paid interview in a British magazine, her attorney said. With 14 children to care for, Suleman can’t hold down a regular job to pay bills, lawyer Jeff Czech said.

“She’s not doing well. She’s struggling financially and she does whatever she can,” Czech told the Associated Press.

In an interview with TMZ’s television show, Suleman said she didn’t expect the photos to reach American readers so quickly, but she’s not ashamed of posing for the magazine. “I’m doing what I need to do to take care of my kids,” Suleman said.

When Suleman gave birth to octuplets in 2009, she was an unemployed single mother who already had six other children.
