The Spokesman-Review
The National Weather Service issued small-stream flood advisories for much of Eastern Washington and North Idaho today. The weather service expects an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain will fall over the next three days. Combined with melting snowpack, there could be flooding in small creeks and streams and on country roads, and the potential for mudslides on sparsely vegetated steep slopes, the weather service said. Moderate flooding is expected on the Palouse River at Potlatch on Friday and minor flooding on the Coeur d’Alene River at Cataldo on Sunday. The weather service is also keeping an eye out for flooding on the South Fork of the Palouse at Pullman and the St. Joe River at St. Maries The flood advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday.
