In brief: Youth center hosts egg hunt

HILLYARD – The Northeast Youth Center will host its annual Flashlight Egg Hunt on Saturday at Hays Park, 1200 E. Providence Ave.

Children ages 4 to 6 may begin hunting for eggs at 7 p.m.; 7- to 9-year-olds can start looking at 7:45; and 10- to 13-year-olds can begin searching for their eggs at 8. Egg hunters will use a flashlight to find eggs filled with candy. Some kids may find a gold or silver egg and will receive a special prize. Participants are asked to bring a flashlight and a prize bag and dress in weather-appropriate clothing.

The Flashlight Egg Hunt is a Kids-Helping- Kids fundraiser that supports the scholarship funding for the children’s summer programs in the Hillyard community.

Tickets are $11 per person and may be purchased in advance by calling (509) 482-0708.

The youth center is a nonprofit organization that provides recreational and educational activities for 5- to 15-year-olds in Hillyard.

Qualchan ladies tee off season

LATAH VALLEY – The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course 9-Hole Ladies Evening League will begin its first day of golf on Tuesday.

Annual membership dues are $27 per golfer and $28 for the 2012 Golf Handicap and Information Network fee.
