Obituary: Wederspahn, Alma Leona Lobe

Age 87

WEDERSPAHN, Alma Leona Lobe

Died peacefully on March 28, 2012 in Odessa, WA.

Born on December 15, 1924 in Lind, WA, she married Art Wederspahn on November 17, 1941, in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

They lived in Portland, OR - then moved to Odessa where they operated a dairy farm.

In 1954, Art and Alma moved to Greenacres, WA, where they also operated a dairy farm.

From there, they moved to Spokane and lived for some 50 odd years.

Alma worked as manager of the bakery department at Albertsons.

Art and Alma were snowbirds and rock hounds for several years, going to Yuma, AZ.

Alma’s favorite things were working in her yard, baking, crocheting, Gonzaga basketball and the Seattle Mariners.

Alma is survived by her daughter Joyce Kuest (Allen); son, Dennis Wederspahn (Linda); six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Howard, Jerry and Bill; sisters, Dorothy and Margaret.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Art; her parents, Maggie Waymire and David Lobe; one brother Ed and by one sister, Evelyn.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, March 30th between noon and 8 PM and again on Saturday, March 31st between 9 AM and 5 PM.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 2nd, 2012 at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N DIVISION, Spokane, WA 99207.

Following, a luncheon will be served at the Spangle Saloon and Grill, 145 Main St. Spangle, WA.
