A principal’s promise: Orchard Center Elementary School principal Travis Peterson had a lot of explaining to do when he arrived at West Valley High School for a school district strategic planning meeting Thursday. Peterson promised his students he would dress up in a costume if they reached a goal of $2,000 for their seventh annual Pennies for Patients program. Monies collected are donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year the total reached nearly $3,500. (Dan Pelle)
