TOP CAMPAIGN PROMISE: “Solve some of the problems and offer some solutions.”

TOP THREE ISSUES:

1. Increase funding for law and order and the safety of citizens.

2. Opposes jail expansion or any other new county buildings. Would rather have the county build jail annexes, similar to how schools deal with crowding.

3. Bring leadership and pragmatism to the county.

TOP CAMPAIGN PROMISE: “To treat people well and with respect.”

TOP THREE ISSUES:

1. Reduce government bureaucracy and restore confidence in local government.

2. Openness and transparency in government.

3. Fair and actual taxation for all and work with taxing districts to encourage budget reductions.

Bruce Noble

AGE: 58

OCCUPATION: Owner of Hydro Gen, a renewable-energy development company. Licensed engineer.

EXPERIENCE: Unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Kootenai County Commission, 2008. Two unsuccessful bids for the Post Falls Highway District.

TOP CAMPAIGN PROMISE: Work to expand the County Commission to five part-time commissioners, hire a county administrator and reduce number of elected offices. “It makes for better representation.”

TOP THREE ISSUES:

1. Restructure county government; advocate for expanding to five part-time commissioners.

2. Ensure new county land use rules don’t take away private property rights or reduce the role of professionals such as engineers.

3. Consolidation of county’s four highway districts for efficiency and savings.

Todd Tondee

AGE: 47

OCCUPATION: Kootenai County Commission chairman; owns Post Falls used-car dealership.

EXPERIENCE:  Elected to Kootenai County Commission in 2006, won re-election in 2008; served three years as Post Falls City councilman (elected 2003).

TOP CAMPAIGN PROMISE: “To continue to be a fiscally conservative Republican and to maintain the integrity I brought to the office.”

TOP THREE ISSUES:

1. Preserving private property rights through land-use codes.

2. Making government more accessible.

3. Defending homeowners from high taxes and promoting fiscal conservatism.
