Woman stabbed in Spokane Valley Monday night

SPOKANE VALLEY — A 19-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck during a fight Monday night in Spokane Valley.

Sheriff’s deputies say the fight started between two men outside the Summit School at 612 S. McDonald Road. Their girlfriends got involved, and one stabbed the other. She was treated and released at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Police arrested Cody Gray, 19, of Spokane Valley and booked her into Spokane County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault, a news release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said. A police dog was used to track Gray from the scene to her nearby home, the release said.

Witnesses also told deputies that they heard several gunshots during the fight but didn’t know who fired the shots or if anyone was injured. Detectives found several shell casings in the parking lot of Summit School but didn’t find a weapon, the release said.
