Ultimate Marvel Marathon - Consisting of six titles in the Marvel comic series beginning with “Iron Man” at 11:30 a.m. and continuing all day with “Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor 3D,” “Captain America 3D” and ending with “The Avengers.” River Park Square, AMC Theatres, 808 W. T.W.I.N.E. - Teen Writers of the Inland Empire is a writing club for Spokane County teenagers in grades 6-12. No registration is required. 53rd Annual Gem, Jewelry and Mineral Show - The show will feature displays of fossils, minerals, gemstones, handcrafted jewelry, and supplies. Special Olympics Washington Spring Games - Spectators welcome to support more than 650 athletes, 90 coaches and 200 volunteers. Gold medal winners will advance to Summer Games in Tacoma. At 3:15 p.m., Special Olympics athletes will have opportunity to participate in a Healthy Athletes venue at Center Place, 2426 N. Discovery Place in Spokane Valley. During Healthy Athletes, Special Olympics athletes will be fitted with shoes donated by Kyle and Nate Kinghorn, owners of Runner’s Soul, receive toothbrushes donated by local dentists and have their blood pressure checked. Marmot March - Seventh annual kids run, limited to first 300 children who sign up. 10 a.m. at Riverfront Park. $10 per child, accompanying adults are free. A 1.2-mile noncompetitive walk/jog/run for children in second grade or younger. There is also a 0.8-mile shorter walk. An adult must accompany the child around the course, no more than four children per adult. Strollers welcome. Pick up T-shirts for kids at the Marmot March booth at the Bloomsday Trade Show on Friday, 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center.

Sunday

Bloomsday 2012 - 36th running of the worlds largest timed fun run. Open to all runners, walkers, wheelchairs, assisted wheelchairs and strollers. Course closes at 1:30 p.m. 9 a.m. downtown Spokane $17/person, $35/late entry fee.
