HOOK, LeRoy Engelsen
(Age 93)

Born on Aug. 21, 1918 in Spokane, Washington, LeRoy passed away May 2, 2012 in Spokane, Washington.

LeRoy graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Whitworth College in 1941, and later earned his Master’s degree from Western Washington College.

He spent his career devoted to teaching biology and coaching baseball.

LeRoy started his career in Coulee City, WA, spent some time in Odessa, WA and finally spent the majority of his career successfully teaching and coaching at West Valley High School in Spokane Valley, WA.

LeRoy loved and supported Whitworth with his time, talent, and resources.

He worked throughout his life to continue the level of educational excellence and the profound experience that students experience to this day.

LeRoy has been a member of Millwood Presbyterian Church since 1947 and raised his family in that church.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Shirley.

He is survived by his four children, Brian Hook of Tennessee, Janice Knoll and her husband Art, of Portland, OR, Cliff Hook and his wife Kriss of Spokane, WA and Tom Hook of Spokane, WA.

LeRoy is also survived by his grandchildren, Jamison, Spencer and Crosby Hook of Spokane, WA, Debbie Nolan of Portland, OR, Robb Hook of Tennessee and one great-grandchild, Andrew Hook.

A Memorial Service will be held Wed. May 9, at 3:00PM at Millwood Presbyterian Church 3223 N. Marguerite Rd.
