That gigantic jet circling over Spokane today and yesterday was a Boeing 747-8F being prepped for delivery to Luxembourg.
Todd Woodard, spokesman for Spokane International Airport, said the cargo craft was using the runway for touch-and-go landings. The jet will join the fleet of Luxembourg-based air carrier Cargolux and already has been emblazoned with the company’s markings.
“We’re just 30 minutes from Everett (by air) and Boeing will bring planes over while getting them ready for delivery,” Woodard said. “They like the Category 3 approach.”
The Boeing 747-8 is one of the largest jets made.
