FOWLER, Jay

Jay, or “Lanny” to the friends who knew him the longest, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 30 at age 75 in Spokane.

Lanny grew up in the Spokane area, attended Grant Grade School and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1955.
After four years in the Navy, he worked for Boeing on the missile projects for many years.

He then went on to open a photography studio in Montana, became an Emergency Medical Technician, and an emergency room nurse.

He worked as a nurse in the Spokane area until he retired.

He was honorably discharged from the Navy Reserves in 1980.
He was always an avid outdoorsman.

He loved fishing, bow-hunting, camping, and mountain climbing.

He was also an accomplished competitive archer and outdoor photographer.

He was also a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders to honor our nation’s heroes while his health allowed.
Jay is survived by his sons James, Micheal, and Robert and grandchildren.
A memorial services will be held on Friday, May 11th at 3pm at the Heritage Funeral Home, Riverside Cemetery, 508 N. Government Way in Spokane.
