Van Halen coming to Spokane in August

By The Spokesman-Review

Legendary rock band Van Halen, featuring original lead singer David Lee Roth and guitar ace Eddie Van Halen, will play the Spokane Arena this summer.

The show, announced on the heels of the band’s gig last weekend at the Tacoma Dome, marks the first time in eight years that Van Halen has played Spokane; they were here in 2004 with then-frontman Sammy Hagar.

Tickets for the Aug. 21 show go on sale next Saturday (May 19) through TicketsWest outlets, (800) 325-SEAT or www.ticketswest.com, or through Live Nation, www.livenation.com. Tickets will range from $49.50 to $125.

Rounding out the Van Halen lineup is founding drummer Alex Van Halen, and bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen’s son. The opening act is Ky-Mani Marley, son of musical legend Bob Marley.
