Virgle Edward “Buddy”

Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep May 9, 2012 in Richmond Texas at age 81.

Virgle was born August 16, 1930, in Gars Mills, LA.

He served in the US Air Force from 1949 to 1953.

Virgle had an exciting career in the oil industry, where he worked and traveled around the world, including Alaska and Malaysia.

After retiring from a fruitful and rewarding career, he attended seminary, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

He pastored Vera Valley Worship Center in Spokane, Washington.

He then retired to Rosenberg, Texas to be close to and enjoy family and friends, who knew Virgle as a kind and loving husband, a wonderful father, and exceptional grandfather.

Virgle took storytelling to an art form, and he never met a stranger - always having a kind word and a smile for everyone.

He loved animals and enjoyed several special pets.



Virgle is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elouise Wilkins Hamrick, parents Lemuel and Ruby Hamrick, brother, L. F. Hamrick Jr.

He is survived by his daughter Sandra Brou of Rosenberg, TX, and her son Robert and Michele, of Atlanta, GA.

He is also survived by his son Ralph and Carol Hamrick of Rosenberg, with four children and seven grandchildren: Sharon and Roberto Marin and daughters Robin and Madison of College Station, TX; Karon Hamrick and sons J. P. Langlinais of Lafayette, LA, and Aaron Herbst of Richmond, TX; Rebekah and Cecil Shipman and daughter Emily of Cypress, Texas; Toby and Windy Hamrick and twin daughters, Hanna and Avery, of Houston, TX.



Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, May 12th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev.

Ricky Jean.

Burial will follow in Vivian Cemetery.

There will be a time of visitation on Friday, May 11th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
