Obituary: Mclaughlin, Michael C.

McLAUGHLIN, Michael C.
(Age 59)

Mike McLaughlin died peacefully in his sleep on May 5th surrounded by family and friends after complications from an extended illness.

Mike was born in Minnesota, but lived most of his life in Spokane and graduated from Joel E. Ferris High School.
He was an avid Cougar football fan and followed G.U.

basketball religiously, but his greatest pleasures came from spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Mike and his wife Kim loved entertaining their grandkids with sleepovers, movies and trips to the lake.

Mike always had time for his friends, and even those he didn’t know, and for many years distributed Christmas food baskets for the needy with his buddies at the Knights of Columbus.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Kim; his son Tracy; sisters Cindy Langdale (husband Denny), Debbie McLaughlin, Colleen Whitehouse (husband John), Leslie Miller (husband Garry), Shelby Churchill and Julie McLaughlin.

He is also survived by grandsons Nick, Tucker and Carter; granddaughters Kasey and Madison; along with nephew Evan, and nieces Alison, Lauren and Megan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Marie McLaughlin.
The family would like to especially thank the Deaconess ICU nurses and physicians for their skill and kindness while Mike was in their care.
Mike was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend; and will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be announced at a later date.
